Can you share a video as a link instead of a file?
Three apps' pages describe a link in place of a file. Descript exports a standalone web page with a share link and an embed; SceneMixer shares a segment or a finished episode as a page with a social preview, without publishing the project; VEED offers a VEED link beside downloading and uploading. As of 2026-09-25.
| App | Feature | What the page says |
|---|---|---|
| Descript | Publish | A standalone web page with a share link and an embed |
| SceneMixer | Publish | A segment or a finished episode can also be shared as a page with a social preview |
| VEED | Publish | Download the file and upload it to each platform, or share a VEED link |
Inclusion rule. An app is listed when its own pages state what the question asks. Order. Apps in alphabetical order.
A link gets a cut in front of a client, a collaborator or a group chat without anyone downloading a file.
What the page carries differs. Descript's comes with an embed for a website; SceneMixer's carries the preview metadata that makes a link show a picture and a title when it is pasted into a feed or a message.
A link is not a post: to appear in a platform's feed, the video still has to be uploaded there.
