The AI features short-video apps list

Reframe before placing captions

Reframing moves the picture, so captions placed first can end up over a face. CapCut crops 16:9 to 9:16 while tracking the subject; VEED keeps the speaker centred whatever the shape; OpusClip resizes for every platform in one click. As of 2026-09-25.

Set the final shape first, then add captions, stickers and titles inside it.

Each platform covers part of the screen with its own buttons and text, and the covered area differs between them; a tall frame leaves less safe room than it seems.

When the same video goes to several platforms, check the captions in each shape rather than only the first.

If an app reframes and captions in one pass, look at the result before exporting a batch.

Keep a landscape master; reframing is easier to redo from it than from a vertical copy.

2Making the drama before the edit

Upstream of an app feature like “Reframe before placing captions”, SceneMixer describes its own generation steps:

16:9 landscape (SceneMixer's default) and 9:16 vertical (the usual short-drama frame), chosen per project.

Video is 16:9 landscape by default, with 9:16 vertical available; you set it once per project. Segments are typically 4 to 15 seconds, and some model tiers go to 30.
