Know which features spend credits
Many AI features are paid per use rather than by plan. Captions generates B-roll with AI credits; Filmora's text to video is paid with AI credits; Submagic counts AI video and image generation in credits. As of 2026-09-25.
Kapwing's no-charge plan counts automatic subtitling against its credits too, so even captions can run out.
Credits make a plan's headline features look larger than a month's use of them, so the credit count matters as much as the feature list.
Generation spends the most: a few seconds of generated footage can cost as much as a month of captions.
Try each paid feature once and note what it cost before building it into a routine.
Check whether unused credits roll over; on many plans they reset each month.

2Where the footage comes from
Upstream of an app feature like “Know which features spend credits”, SceneMixer describes its own generation steps:
A serialized vertical-video show (typically 60–120 seconds per episode, 9:16) where the cast, scenes, and footage are AI-generated.

The longest an episode may run: 240 seconds for Short Drama, 300 for TV Series, none for Film.
